RUGS — Rantaian Urban Green Spaces
The initiative by Malaysian Nature Society (MNS)
Rantaian Urban Green Spaces (RUGS) is a conservation project that aims to steward and support multi-stakeholder collaboration between community-led conservation efforts, civil society organisations, government bodies, city councils and the grassroots to collectively safeguard, rehabilitate, and connect the fragmented green spaces within the Klang Valley.
We designed the RUGS logo. RUGS aims to reconnect nature, animals and human within urban areas. This logo focuses on closing the gaps through interconnectivity. To symbolise the importance of reconnection, we design the Pangolin as the keystone animal on the left, with all the targeted reconnection in between (dark green area), and the forest (leaves) on the right. This is to show that RUGS is the vehicle or platform to make them meet. From species to species, in a holistic environment.
Clear message, solid colours with bold appearance. These are the direction we set to design RUGS website. The information is structured to guide the audience to understand the complex details of RUGS easily.
